You can go now Michael.

The greatest most amazing LOST season finale ever. I will be watching it approximately 47 times more before season 5 starts. Un-freaking believable. My brain can not contain all that I saw in that 2 hour magical moment of television history.

And I just found out that LOST Season 5 does not start until January 09. I can’t believe we have to wait that long. But we’ll get 17 episodes. 3 more than this season. And speaking of this season, the Season 4 DVDs don’t come out until December 9th!!! It is going to be a cold, rough, and painful Summer, Fall, and Winter, with no Hurley to cuddle up next to.

Some more worship stuff

Another note on Worship.  My pastor sent me this video and I thought it was worth a look-see.  Just a short little video on worship.

Who we Worship

So for Sunday Night Youth Group we had a N.O.W. (Night of Worship).  I showed a video that really put things into perspective.  God is big…I am small.  I wanted to throw it out there for the world to see.  Unfortunately it’s not on YouTube so just follow the link and sit back and get ready to feel small.  It’s like 45 minutes so probably don’t watch it at work unless you’re on your lunch break.  I hope you are as blessed as I was/am.

On top of El Toro, all covered with fog…

On top of El Toro, all covered with fog...

So this morning I got up at 5:30 and went on the El Toro hike with a friend of mine and some of his co-workers. It’s something I’ve done before and I remember the view being something really worth looking forward to. As you can see, I was disappointed with what I got today. But it gave me the opportunity to simply reflect on so many things. I was talking to my friend about prayer. And as I’m talking I realize how much faith I have put into prayer. Because simply put, prayer works. After losing the baby, all we had was our Good Lord to rely on for strength. And when it seemed like we couldn’t carry the load, it was like a fresh wind of strength came in through prayer. We prayed for sure, but it was also sincerely feeling like people were praying for us. Through it, there has been healing, mourning, and joy. And in all of it, God’s Name is praised because every aspect of this has been coated in prayer. Thank you for your prayers.

Here are some more pics from the hike this morning. (but remember, the view was not that amazing because of the fog.)

Best Movies of 2007

•May 7, 2008 • 6 Comments

So I saw on another blog that someone posted his top 10 movies of 2007. I thought I should do the same. 2007 was a good year for movies. Here are my official top 10

10. Gone Baby Gone

9. 3:10 to Yuma

8. Juno

7. Pirates of the Caribbean 3

6. Transformers

5. There Will Be Blood

4. No Country for Old Men

3. Once

2. Lars and the Real Girl

1. Into The Wild

Honorable Mention
Sunshine, Dan In Real Life, Ratatouille, Martian Child, Air Guitar Nation, Spiderman 3, The Devil Came On Horseback, Born Ultimatum, Stardust, The King of Kong, August Rush (thanks Ben)

There were also some movies I haven’t seen yet that may might have made it on the list, but for now…this is the official vote.

Disclaimer: There are some movies on here that portray principles or behaviors that go against my Christian principles. I am not condoning their behavior or what they represent. For example: I don’t think it’s right for someone to get bludgeoned with a bowling pin. I am simply looking at these films artistically and from a cinematic point of view. I thought most of these would spark interesting conversations and I appreciate that in films.

I still love Jesus.

Rejoicing Through Pain

•April 19, 2008 • 4 Comments

Blessed be Your Name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in this offering
Blessed be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in Lord, still we will say

Blessed be the Name of the Lord
Blessed be Your Name
Blessed be the Name of the Lord
Blessed be Your Glorious Name.

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your Name!!

This is our heart. I have never been so blessed, so sad, so overwhelmed, so proud, so happy, so completely undone in all of my life. God is so good. Even in tragedy. I am so undeserving of His love.

Lord, be glorified in our grief. We trust You completely.

James 1:2-4

2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

John 16:33
33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Greatest Wife Strikes Again

•April 10, 2008 • 3 Comments

So just 6 days after her birthday, my wife decides she wants to bless me with a new guitar! We had it all picked out and went to get it, only to find out that they didn’t have it in stock. So we found another one and it is way better than our original choice. It has a beautiful tone and is gorgeous to look at. What I got was an Ibanez Exotic Wood EWC30QHERLG Cutaway Electric-Acoustic. For the guitar lovers here are the specs…

  • AEL body with cutaway
  • Quilted mahogany top, back, and sides
  • Headstock capped with matching quilted mahogany
  • Chrome die-cast tuners
  • 12th fret mother of pearl inlay
  • Ibanez B-band SQR pickup
  • AEQ-SRT Shape Shifter preamp controls feedback
  • Onboard tuner

I have an amazing wife. Note to the unmarried men: Find a woman that supports you, encourages you, and loves you. There is no greater feeling aside from the sweet love and grace of our Good Lord.

Here are some pics of my new Ax that we have named “Fiona”.

Twittering

So I keep hearing about Twitter.com.  I have never really checked it out, or really had any interest to look into it.  Then I saw this little help video on what twittering is all about.   It may switch me around. Though I have a hard enough time keeping up with this blog…
